My love for all living things is something that I was born with and it continues to grow on a daily basis. Each living species is unique in its own right. They think, feel, hurt, feel happy and sad and have all the emotions that we as humans have. I have created art for reproduction on porcelain collectables, written 8 books on painting, made how to videos and cd’s, won awards, written articles, hung my work in galleries, painted portraits for celebrities, taught at a Washington state college for 15 years, taught at all of the major painting conventions and travel taught all over the United States and Canada and worked with and met many wonderful people. I feel I have a gift that needs to be shared and by sharing this gift I can teach each student a little about the animals that we love so much. I am a self-taught artist and am a non- conformist as I paint what I like the way I want to and do not care what is in fashion or popular. I paint from the heart for me. My work with the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund International continues as I try to bring awareness to the peril of the great Mountain Gorillas through my paintings. I work to help other endangered species as well.

The medium that I use is Deco Art Traditions Acrylics and I use (exclusively) the Dynasty Black Gold series brushes. I use the Wave brushes to do the fur and hair on my paintings. I used the Wave brush on the horses mane in the attached photo of my latest painting “Cherokee” and also on the feathers. My students are amazed at the results that they get on their paintings using all of the Black Gold Brushes. There is no substitute for the quality and performance of these high quality brushes.
